By joining the Salem Association of REALTORS (SAR), you will be joining at three levels.

What do I get for my REALTOR membership?

1. REALTOR TRADEMARK PROTECTION – The term REALTOR is a registered collective membership mark that may be used only by Real Estate Professionals who are members of the National Association of REALTORS. The term REALTOR distinguishes them from non-members and signifies their adherence to a strict Code of Ethics.

2. EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT – SAR offers seminars throughout the year to assist REALTORS in meeting the continuing education requirements of the Oregon Real Estate Agency for license renewal and updates on compliance with national and local real estate regulations.

3. MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS– The membership meets monthly to hear topics of interest and to keep members informed of developing issues and industry trends.

4. REALTOR / ATTORNEY MEETING – Every month the Salem Association of REALTORS has a local Attorney speak regarding issues that are affecting the Real Estate Industry, as well as our local REALTORS. A one hour Continuing Education Certificate is provided.

5. SAR COMMITTEES– Our committees meet on a regular basis and are a great way to get involved in the Salem Association of REALTORS and to get to know others in the Real Estate Industry. You are welcome to join any of our committee meetings.

6. GOVERNMENT ADVOCACY – Through active involvement in all levels of government, the Association strives to preserve the American dream of homeownership, protect private property rights, and protect the right to do business as an independent contractor.

7. TRADE PUBLICATIONS – The Salem Association of REALTORS monthly newsletter, The Salem REALTOR, is delivered electronically to all members. It provides up-to-date information on Real Estate issues and upcoming Association events.

8. MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY – The Salem Association of REALTORS Membership Directory is kept current and published on our website, which provides an additional resource for networking, advertising and business referrals.

9. PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS – The professional standards process is an integral part of the Salem Association of REALTORS. The Professional Standards committee has pledged to investigate and assess all complaints to ensure that the National Association of REALTORS Code of Ethics are being upheld, and all parties are treated fairly

10. DISCOUNTED PRODUCTS & SERVICES – The Salem Association of REALTORS provides a connection to the National and State Associations websites where REALTOR members can find a wide variety of discounted products and services available.
