2010 The 23rd annual Salem Association of Realtors Food Drive "went really well" this year especially "considering the times we're in," said drive coordinator Sarah Geddes.

The Oct. 30 drive generated 6,205 pounds of food and $1,230.39. Realtor volunteers were stationed at Roth's and Fred Meyer stores in Salem and Keizer. Although collections were slightly less than last year, two stores did better than last -- Roth's Stayton and Vista.
The drive committee was "not surprised by the dip," Geddes said, adding that volunteers' hearts were touched by the generosity of givers.

2009 SAR collected 7,222 pounds of food goods, plus $1,760.44 in funds during the Summer Harvest Food Drive for the Marion-Polk Food Share. It was our pleasure to be able to assist local families and we proudly managed to exceed last year’s record, as well. Liz Beaty did a great job of leading up the drive. In 2008 SAR collected 5,603 pounds of food and $1,088.38 during the Summer Harvest Food Drive which was donated to the Marion-Polk Food Share to assist local families.
